My Devious Plan to stop Protesters
Protesters tend to protest when they feel they have nothing to lose (or are at no risk of losing it), so I have a devious plan for ensuring they no longer feel that way…
We give them access to good schools, good affordable health care, and well paying jobs. We make sure they all own safe, environmentally sound homes with fair mortgages, get paid vacation time and sick time.
We don’t let them get used to a police presence, by keeping it out of their neighborhoods.
We no longer stop and frisk people, because that just desensitizes people to police behavior.
We make sure there are great supermarkets with fresh food in their neighborhoods, and municipal services are well-delivered.
If they DO protest, the police will just stand there, unarmed, with their hands clasped behind their backs, feigning indifference, so the protesters will get tired and go home.
If we can do that, those silly protesters will suddenly have a great deal to lose, and then they will stop protesting.
